We are dedicated to empowering our homeowners to build strength, stability and self-reliance throughout our entire partnership.

Finishing sweat equity hours is just the beginning of homeownership. The real work starts when the bills pile up or something stops working. That’s when the problem-solving gets real.

We hope that the work experience completing sweat equity hours is a solid introduction to homeownership, but there’s no substitution for real-life situations that force us to find a solution in real-time. We also hope that our homeowners know they can rely on their network of friends and family to help, including Habitat.

We’ve compiled a few resources in this artcile to get you started. Stay tuned for more helpful advice and reach out with your own questions – we’d love to answer them here! (email us: mission@habitatect.org, and let us know you’re responding to this article for advice and information.)
