As the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted families throughout Connecticut, it’s more important than ever that everyone – no matter their income level or where they live – has a safe, affordable place to call home. Habitat for Humanity is committed to helping make this happen, but we need your help today.

You can help ensure Congress is providing much needed support to families impacted by the pandemic by asking your senators to support two key bills – the Housing Assistance Fund Act, focused on housing stability, and The Work Opportunities and Resources to Keep Nonprofit Organizations Well (WORK NOW) Act, providing resources for nonprofits working to serving our communities.

Before the coronavirus pandemic, 1 in 6 families in Connecticut were already paying half or more of their income on housing. Now, with more than 30 million Americans across the country filing for unemployment since March, the situation is likely much worse. Families now facing additional economic hardship from lost wages or layoffs are confronted with impossible choices between trying to pay their rent or mortgage and life’s other essentials.
