Dear Habitat for Humanity supporter,

I am writing to provide an update about the measures Habitat for Humanity of Eastern Connecticut is taking to protect our staff, volunteers and the people we serve during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

These measures are based on guidance from Habitat for Humanity International and local, state and national public health authorities. We are continually monitoring the situation, and our approach may change as new guidance is provided.

The Governor is allowing a phased approach to re-opening Connecticut. Here at Habitat we are working hard at understanding all the new rules and requirements for operating a safe environment. Our approach to re-opening will be a careful and phased approach as well. That said, we do not anticipate being ready to open our construction sites in June, though we do believe we can open our Restores with limited operations mid-June.

We will provide more details in the coming weeks, and ask for your continued patience and understanding while we work to comply with the new requirements.

Thank you for your continued support as we navigate this public health crisis together.

In partnership,

Terri O’Rourke
CEO & Executive Director
